Medical Assistant-Advanced Pain Medicine Associates, Wichita, KS

 

Advanced Pain Medicine Associates is currently accepting applications for a experienced Medical Assistant to join our practice.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION: Assists providers with patient care in a fast paced, physically demanding, high volume clinical office. Provides basic and routine assistance with patient care delivery by preparing rooms, taking patient vital signs and medical histories, and assisting the physician with procedures as well as performing EKG’s, drawing up injections, etc.

 

FRONT OFFICE

Escort patients

Schedule out-pt testing & referral appointments

Fax refills &referring physician letters

Stock & Clean exam rooms

Scan during down times

 

BACK OFFICE

Flouro tech, including assisting procedure room pre & post op

Required to wear 20 pound lead apron during procedures at least 6 hours a day

Retrieve calls from Nursing Mailbox

Refills/Pill counts

Return patient phone calls

Sterilizing instruments

Filing of x-ray discs/pictures

Urine drug testing orders and follow up

Medication agreement patient consultation

 

Assist Front Desk

Hand out scripts

Prep for next day appointments

 

(All other assignments deemed necessary by management)

 

DEMONSTRATED JOB-RELATED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES: *Customer Service skills *Problem solving skills *Basic procedural skills such as EKG’s and drawing up injections *Effective communication and interaction with employers, patients, providers and other colleagues *Ability to maintain professional demeanor and to use tack and diplomacy appropriate to situation *Requires strong computer skills, including the ability to work with medical software to include scheduling and EMR

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Medical Assistant Certification.

Minimum 2 years continuous experience in clinical operations preferably a specialty office Experience with routine office medical procedures in a clinical environment High school diploma or GED equivalent
