At some point during care, medications may be prescribed as part of the treatment regimen. Medications can work well in conjunction with other treatment modalities. The safety of our patients are our number one priority; therefore APMA follows strict federal guidelines (adhering to the current CDC guidelines) and has set mandatory office policies in place when prescribing class II medications

Those patients prescribed a controlled substance must agree to:

  • Signing a medication contract.
  • Monthly pill counts
  • Random urine drug screens

It should be said, the prescribing of pain medicine is never a guarantee as part of a treatment plan. The use of oral medications have their place and will be determined once a patient has been evaluated thoroughly. Your provider will offer a treatment plan designed for your individual needs to help get your pain under control which may or may not include oral medications.
